GBRf 2021 - Day 3
Our third day starts immediately after the overnight leg, from Exhibition Centre. We set off down the West Highland Line and head for Oban where we will arrive mid-morning. Here we will have a break of around 2hrs before we set off back towards Glasgow.
From Mossend, unusually for a railtour, a Class 91 locomotive will be provided to take us via Carstairs to Edinburgh, and then forward via the ECML to Newcastle. Here we will handover to a Class 60 which will take us on the final leg of the day across the Tyne Valley to Carlisle where Day 3 will end.

Exhibition Centre (06:33) – Partick – Crianlarich - Oban (10:35 - 12:52) - Crianlarich – Maryhill – Springburn - Coatbridge - Mossend Up Reception (loco change) - Motherwell (set down 17:57) - Carstairs - Edinburgh Waverley (set down 18:55) - Berwick - Newcastle (loco change and set down 20:45) - Hexham - Carlisle (23:15)
